I think as highlighted in this review, the pleasure of eating is a complex phenomenon that was partially learned during meals during childhood. The three dimensions of complementary pleasure from eating are described: the sensory dimension, the interpersonal dimension and the psychosocial dimension, which interact with each other. Feeding experiences during childhood, including what, when, how, and with whom, play a role in learning to get pleasure from eating. Learning to get pleasure from eating is a process, which is a great opportunity to shape healthy eating behaviors since childhood. Indeed, children can learn to love and eat healthy foods with initial, positive, and repetitive experiences with these foods, as well as through the opportunity to observe others consuming them. Further research is needed to support the idea that emphasizing eating pleasure can encourage children to adopt a balanced diet in the long term. Facing contrasting and sometimes counterproductive contraceptive effects on children's eating behavior, this review provides insight into new public health interventions. Future nutritional policies can be more effective if they try to instill a positive relationship between healthy food and get pleasure from eating in children.
