Title Dame Whina Cooper

This story is about a woman's biography that I think is a remarkable figure of a woman. She is Dame Whina Cooper. Dame Whina is the honorable leader of the Maori. He is known as Whaea o te Motu, Mother of the Nation.
Dame whina was born in Hokianga in the north of new zealand, she is the son of a maori head. She studied at Whakarapa Native School and later at St Joseph's Maori Girl's College in Napier. After graduating, She returned home to his parents for 2 years in 1913. Dame Whina married Richard Gilbert in 1917 and they have three children. Whina became a leading figure in the affairs of the church and society. Then her husband died and she remarried with William Cooper in 1941. In 1949 William died, and Dame whina decided to leave hokiange then move to Auckland.
After that, Dame Whina became a national leader and she became president of the founder of the Maori Women's Welfare League. Then when he was 80 years old, Dame whina led the Maori Land March to protest the loss of Maori land. And at the age of 98 years Dame Whina died.
For me, Dame Whina is a very inspiring woman.
