"Botanic gardens 'Best Hope' for saving Plants"

Dr.Samuel Brockington says the world's botanic gardens are the best hope to save the world's most endangered plants. It is currently estimated that a diversity of plant species is threatened with extinction, so in the future people may find it difficult to find food and fuel. Most plants are in danger because humans have been over-exploiting. A scientist, Dr.Paul Smith says one in five plants in the world is in danger of extinction. The botanic garden contains about 100,000 species, including one third of all endangered plants in the world. The botanic garden helps protect about 40 percent of endangered plant species.
