91th The Learning Myth - By Sheryl

seorng A 5-year-old boy just started reading. Every night, we lay in his bed and he read a short book for me. In the end, he will tell you that he's in trouble: last night the word was "grateful." He finally got it after a pretty painful minute. He then said, "Daddy, are not you glad how I struggled with that word? I think I can feel my brain grow." I smile: my child is now showing signs of the story of a "growth mindset". but this is not a coincidence. Recently, I practiced research that he had read over the last few years: and he decided to encourage his son not when he succeeded in things he already understood, but when he did not give in to things he found difficult. he stressed to him that by fighting, your brain grew.
