This article describes the voice disorders that have long been a topic among the speech of communication professionals, performers and practitioners' medical practitioners. According to research has shown that professional voice users including teachers, actors, broadcasters, preachers, sellers, trained and untrained singers and especially women in such cases are at risk of vocal pathology, due to hyperfunctional use of sound.
According to some researchers, music teachers have a higher risk than teachers in other professions, with voice teachers and choirs having a higher risk for vocal pathology. Indeed music teachers use their voices more than just non-music teachers, because their responsibilities in teaching and singing include general education and music classes, extra exercises, shows and private lessons that go on and on with little time to break sound.
