What is lipstick, and how is it made?
Lipstick is a cosmetic product that embellishes the lips, changing their natural color. The basic lipstick's ingredients are wax, oil, alcohol and pigments. To the 4 basic ingredients, a large variety of other ingredients are added
In the first step, the basic ingredients are separately melted, hence, the oils are melted apart from wax mixture and solvents. The recipients where the mixtures are melted are made from ceramics or stainless steel.
The pigments are then added to the melted mixture of solvents and oils and the result is mixed with the melted wax.
In the second step, the mixture of pigments and melted oils, solvents and wax are poured into shaping tubular molds. Then, after the mixture is cooled, is separated from the molds.
The final phase of manufacturing process deals with the packaging of the final product, which can be automated or not.
