Promoting Extensive Reading among Chinese Students Learning Thai as a Foreign Languag

This article discusses the ability to read Chinese students after being assigned to read Thai texts for one semester. The study sample was selected from 44 Chinese students who enrolled in a reading course at a university in Thailand in the academic year 2010. When the second semester. Their test methods are based on reading comprehension, extensive reading activity, data collection and analysis, teacher interviews, readings and student progress. Quantitative analysis results show students who read more pages perform better in terms of speed and their reading. It aims to improve Chinese students learn Thai and they will provide interesting books according to the language level of readers, so readers become easier in understanding Thai language.
