The study found that the assessment of the results was lower in reliability compared to other aspects. In this case English skills are needed and is very important. And, English language skills can not improve the quality of learning. The study aims to study the portfolio component of the 6th grade English language skills. The research methods used include document review and interviews of nine experts in English language teaching and language assessment. Data were analyzed by using content analysis method. The results of the study found that the portfolio component on the English skills assessment for grade 6 students consists of three parts, namely Introduction, Content and Rating Criteria. And, there are 7 steps to using the portfolio in the assessment consisting of, planning, preparation for students, evidence collection, progress monitoring, performance improvement, reflection and display of works.
research is done by way of, interviewing students, oral presentations, storytelling, picture descriptions. all that is done gjna get concrete results.
